Thomas M. Gorey, LCPC, JD
Tom Gorey is a licensed clinical professional counselor and Jungian (analytical) psychotherapist with offices in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist in 2006, Tom worked for 25 years in health care policy development and strategic planning on the national level. He served for over a decade in various capacities at the American Medical Association, including Director of Long Range Policy Analysis and executive secretary to the AMA Council on Long Range Planning and Development.
Later, Tom formed his own consulting group, Policy Planning Associates, which provided services to a variety of not-for-profit medical and healthcare organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Hospital Association and the Milbank Memorial Fund. Tom has authored numerous books, articles and research reports on issues and trends in medicine and healthcare, and he has been an advisor to medical and health care providers on strategies for adapting to the changing health care environment.
Tom has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Illinois-Urbana, an M.A. in pastoral counseling from Loyola University Chicago, and a law degree with honors from DePaul University. He also received a certificate in Jungian psychotherapy from the CG Jung Institute of Chicago and a certificate in divorce mediation from Northwestern University. Tom serves as a Board Member of the CG Jung Center in Evanston, Illinois and is a professional affiliate of the CG Jung Institute of Chicago.
